Q: How much does a Ford Flex cost to manufacture?
Working on a school project and am trying to find the cost to manufacture vehicles. I wanted to use the Ford Flex in my example. Can anyone help?

A: Well, this doesn’t help you to the extent you want, but every smart business will make a profit on their product, so you can assume a $28000 Flex, which is about the starting price I believe, will make at least a few thousand, or possibly more. Then as you add more options, Ford is making a profit off simply a heated seat add-on or back up camera.

Q: Is there a notorious problem with putting snow chains on the ford flex?
A friend of mine couldn’t put chains on a ford flex rental, due to the flex’s low fender clearance and risk of the chains possibly cutting the brake lines. Any documentation of this via recall or etc?

A: The owners manual states that if you have 20 inch wheels you shouldn’t use chains, if you have the smaller wheels you can use chains on the front wheels only.

Q: What does the Ford Flex accomplish that has not already been ?
achieved by Ford Trucks? Is the Ford Flex an SUV or a station wagon? This is not a criticism, Ford has done their homework. I was surprised to find out it is a front wheel drive vehicle. I am just wondering if this is a boxy station wagon? A boulevard cruiser that is good on gas? A low flying explorer? What?

A: It is a mixture of the Ford Expedition and the Range Rover. Ford not to long ago got a new VP from Boeing and has given ford a whole new look trying to bring in European styling and suspension. The Flex has many special features. Rear sensing system, Rear camera, Refrigirator/Freezer, Navigation, DVD player very very roomy front back and 3rd row. Very comfortable and smooth.

Q: Where in dearborn michigan do they get to test drive ford flex?
Im thinking of buying one so i need to know is there a place in dearborn michigan which they let you test drive there ford flex.
Thanks

A: Any Ford dealer who has one for sale should let you test drive it, if you appear to be a serious adult customer.

Q: Did Ford replace the Windstar/Freestar minivan with the Ford Flex? Whatever happened to their minivan?
I know they have this HUGE van, but whatever happened to their traditional minivans? I know it went from a windstar to freestar. But after the free star was made, there is no new minivan shown on their website. I’m guessing, Ford Flex, is supposed to be the new minivan?

A: Ford stopped making the minivan a few years ago. The market for that vehicle has dropped off quite a bit over the years and in it’s place they have released the “crossover” vehicles. They have attributes of both a car and an SUV. Ford had the Freestyle/Taurus X for about 4 years and now they have the Flex. Both vehicle lines can fit up to 7 people really comfortably. It seems that most companies have gone away from the traditional minivan.

Q: Does anyone have a Ford Flex and is it expensive?
I’m leasing a GMC Envoy and it’s that time to trade it in so I saw the Ford Flex and fell in love. How much do you think it’ll be to finance one?

A: I love my Flex! The funky box exterior had to grow on me when it first launched, but the interior and handling had me the moment I sat in the driver seat. The interior is huge and beautiful with the vista roof, stadium style third row seats, second row captains (optional), automatic rear door and a load of other useful and fun features. I got it pretty much loaded minus the cooler and navi system. It is called the “Limo” by my family and friends, so be careful if you get one, because everyone will want you to drive, but then again so will you!

Q: Ford Flex: How much did you pay for yours?
My wife and I have decided that we LOVE the Ford Flex and are ready to buy. We live in Los Angeles, and were wondering — how much did you pay for your Ford Flex?

A: less then $28.0000

Q: Can you run a 32″ TV off a Ford Flex alternator?
Is it possible to hook up a 32″ lcd in a Ford Flex along with an older game system?

Can the alternator keep up with the demand?

A: Depends on the size of the alternator, the current draw of the inverter when it is powering the tv and game and the draw of everything else in the car. Some tvs are lower draw than others. If the total is more than the alternator can handle, the battery makes up the difference. If you are into the battery, it won’t be getting charged, it will be going dead going down the road.

Mount the tv good, it will be a missile in an accident otherwise. This ain’t a job for bungee cords and duct tape

Q: Why does the remote start on my 2010 Ford Flex turn off the engine when I open the door and can it be changed?
I’ve been told by the dealer that it is a safety feature and can not be changed but every other remote start I’ve seen keeps the engine running when the door is opened.

A: Every remote start my dealer has installed stays running when the door is opened.

If there is another dealer around i would get them to take a look at it

Q: How much would a Ford Flex listed for 28,900 on dealer website cost me with the Ford Z plan?
Reason I ask is because I want to know that the dealership isn’t handing me a bunch of bull before I go in. Have tried to research it online but no luck yet.

Thanks!!

A: First of all, the dealer has no reason to be ” handing me a bunch of bull “. Under the z plan agreement, the dealer is OBLIGATED ( (After you supply them with a validated z-plan PIN.) to give you an actual copy of the invoice and the dealer is reimbursed by Ford for the z-plan money. So they have no reason to lie. If they lie to you, they cant get reimbursed for the money.

The lowest “list price” (= MSRP) of a basic (2010 SE FWD, with no options , invoiced in July 2009) Flex is $29.270. The z-plan price on that one is $27,184.35.

The figures that you will see online at dealer websites is a “sale” figure that will include available rebates to the retail customer.
Z-plan customers will also be able to take advantage of the rebates , but the price, before the rebates, is non negotiable.

Z-plan means that the person getting a PIN for you is a retired Ford employee. They will have the ability to cross check the figures that the dealer is giving you. If you don’t trust the dealer, to give you a “bunch of bull”, then you probably should have the Ford-retired employee do the homework for you instead of online searches. It will be much more accurate.

Q: Has anyone here purchased a Ford Flex and are you happy with it?
What are things you like and dislike about it also?

A: I don’t own one but since you only have one response, I’ll include the bit that I know.

A friend has a Limited and I sat in it and they are the most comfortable seats I have ever sat in. I really can’t get over that. It conformed to my body and I just sunk it. It’s a very comfortable ride, especially for long distance commutes or vacations.

The 3.5 L Duratec engine was named a Ward’s Top Ten Engine a couple years ago, so it’s a very reliable engine and has good power.

There’s also a factory installed hitch if you need to pull a small trailer.

Q: What can you say about ford flex?
first off. what’s the difference between 2009 and 2010 models? i was thinking maybe some bugs from 2009 were fix in 2010? is there any?

ford have some issues on differential, alternator, etc? are these fix?

my 08 town and country was totaled. we are looking at the flex? is there anyone here own one? please tell me about it.

A: 2010 ford flex has better fuel efficiency and the turbo lag has been eliminated.. and the 2010 models have this 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6. It is the first in a wave of ecoboost engines coming from Ford. And this is part of their strategy to bring great fuel efficiency developments.

Q: Where is the microphone for Microsoft Sync located on a Ford Flex?
Its also used for phonecalls, music, etc.

A: the online manual said it was located on the drivers A pillar…so it should be located on the “pillar” that runs up from the dash and connects to the drivers side window…..somewhere in the forward left hand region of the drivers door near the frame of the front windshield. i dont know much about the sync yet sorry : / hopes this helps

Q: What is the song from the new ford flex commercial?
It goes like this: me and my game, we live, to rock, we rock, to live…nana nana nana nana nananana

A: say aha .thats the title

Q: Better 7-passenger crossover, Ford Flex or Mazda CX-9?
I’m looking into buying new 7-passenger Ford crossover and can’t decide between the 2009-10 Ford Flex or the 2009-10 Mazda CX-9. I would prefer to buy a Ford because I get a deep discount (my grandfather was a former Ford employee) but am open to other ideas. Which car do you think is better and why?
I get a discount on the Mazda too

A: Ford Flex has a lot more interior room, better fit an finish

the Mazda is more agile but the 3 rd row seat is small
